The collaboration between Gruppo SIGLA and CIPI continues

The activities conducted by the joint cybersecurity laboratory CyberTooth continue this year as well. In addition to carrying out together the European project TruBlo-Truth Seekers Chai , Gruppo SIGLA - company of the Relatech Group - and CIPI (Interuniversity Research Center on Computer Platform Engineering, consisting of the Universities of Genoa, Padua and Sassari) organized a cycle of six lessons, some in English and others in Italian, for the Network Security and Computer Engineering courses of the Faculty of Computer Engineering of the University of Padua.

A large number of students participating in the courses attended the lessons, contributing positively and constructively to the work. The lesson plan was as follows:

    General introduction to the TruBlo project, to the Truth Seekers Chain project. Technological study of web application development and use of technologies related to the BlockChain domain.

    Alternatives to inheritance
    Pros and cons of inheritance and practical notes on the main alternative techniques of code reuse (Composition of Functions, Aggregation, Delegation, Concatenation, Dependency Injection). Examples of functional programming to quickly solve apparently complex problems.
  • Network Security Course / Luca Prete, taught in English language.
    Cyber-security tools: "SIEM" (what, why, how)
    Exploration of the SIEM concept (Security Information and Event Management) and its use with demonstration and real application examples. Description and explanation of main SIEM functionalities: Log Management, System Monitoring, Event Correlation, User Behavior Analytics, Vulnerability Assessment, Endpoint Threat Detection.
  • Network Security Course / Luca Prete, Fabio Sammartino (Kaspersky Italia), taught in English language.
    Introduction to Malware Analysis
    Introduction to malware analysis, procedure, tools used, setting up your own test laboratory. Cyber-attacks attributions, Malware analysis flags, Complications in attributions.
  • Software Engineering course / Yuri Lechiara, taught in Italian language.
    Agile IT projects management: from theory to practice
    Business organization: tasks, duties and responsibilities, introduction / review of AGILE concepts and techniques for project management in the software industry, Best Practices, application to real contexts of production and project release.
